Tinkering Labs Launched in Guwahati’s Government Schools

Guwahati: Five Tinkering Labs were inaugurated at Government Pandu Adarsha High School on August 29, 2023. The event saw the presence of Prof. Dr. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Adviser of Education, Government of Assam. Dr. Indranoshi Das, ACS, Joint Secretary to the Government of Assam, Department of School Education and Officer on Special Duty, Samagra Shiksha Axom, principals, teachers, dignitaries & representatives from SBI Cards & Payments Services Limited and officials from Sumangal Foundation were also present.

These labs, supported by Sumangal Foundation, aim to nurture curiosity and creativity among students. The labs are designed to encourage skills like computational thinking, design mindset, and hands-on learning. The initiative was made possible with financial support from Donor Organization SBI Cards & Payment Services Limited. The project aims to empower youth with 21st-century skills and create an environment for innovative learning. It involves setting up labs in five government schools and conducting training for teachers and students under Sumangal Foundation’s guidance.
