Gauhati University saw a huge turnout today as thousands of aspiring scholars gathered to take the Gauhati University Research Eligibility Test (GURET). This PhD entrance exam, known for its high standards, drew candidates from all over the country, eager to join the prestigious university, which recently earned an NAAC A+ grade.
Candidates from various academic backgrounds, including sciences, humanities, social sciences, commerce, management, law, technology, medicine, and health sciences, arrived well-prepared. The exam tested their knowledge, critical thinking, and research skills.

The Academic Registrar of the University reported that 4,043 applicants applied for GURET, competing for only 428 available seats across all disciplines.
