Guwahati: Actress and social media influencer Sumi Borah got bail today from the Gauhati High Court in the last case filed against her at Borborua Police Station, Dibrugarh.
Now, she is out on bail in all three cases linked to the big online trading scam. Earlier, she had already received bail in cases registered at Dibrugarh and Duliajan Police Stations.
Sumi Borah was in jail for 8 months after she and her husband Tarkik Bora were arrested on September 12, 2024, when they surrendered to the police.
The scam came to light after the arrest of Bishal Phukan, said to be the main mastermind, on September 2, 2024. Police later found his connection with Sumi Borah and her husband, and started more investigations.
Earlier this month, on May 1, 2025, both Bishal Phukan and Tarkik Bora also got bail after spending over 6 months in jail.
