Guwahati: Acting on reliable input, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam conducted a raid at the house of Pranjit Das, located at Janabandhu Path, Durgasarobar Hills Side under the jurisdiction of Jalukbari Police Station. The raid resulted in the apprehension of two individuals, including a woman, on charges of drug peddling.
The arrested individuals have been identified as:
- Pranjit Das (36 years), son of Lt. Sailen Das, residing at Janabandhu Path, Durgasarobar Hills Side, Jalukbari, Kamrup (M).
- Hasina Begum, also known as Maina (27 years), wife of Samir Sheikh, from Kachua-Gaon, Bilasipara, Dhubri, Assam.
During the raid, the following items were recovered:
- 46 vials containing suspected heroin, with a total weight of 61.5 grams.
- Cash amounting to Rs. 680.
- Three mobile phones.
- 250 empty vials.
The STF, Assam, swiftly carried out the operation and ensured that the suspects were apprehended without incident. Necessary legal formalities are being completed as part of the ongoing investigation.
