Guwahati: Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Frontier Headquarters in Guwahati, organized a two-day workshop on stress management and suicide prevention from June 8th to June 9th. The workshop, conducted in collaboration with S.S.W. Gyan Sarovar from Mount Abu, Rajasthan, aimed to equip employees with strategies to prevent and alleviate stress in their daily lives.
Led by Dr. Maithili Hazarika, Associate Professor and Clinical Psychologist at Gauhati Medical College, and Dr. Kartik Gupta, Clinical Psychologist at Gauhati Medical College, the workshop highlighted the alarming rise in suicide cases among Jawans and emphasized preventive measures. Participants were educated about the importance of recognizing warning signs and seeking timely help. Additionally, the session shed light on the concerning issue of fratricide, where Security Force personnel unintentionally harm their comrades serving alongside them.
Shri Sanjeev Sharma, Inspector General of Frontier Headquarters Guwahati, presided over the workshop, expressing his commitment to the mental well-being of SSB personnel. He extended his gratitude to the facilitators, presenting them with mementos as a token of appreciation.
The event saw active participation from esteemed attendees, including Shri BS Jaswal, DIG, Shri Sonam Bodh, DIG, and Dr. Salinder Kaur, DIG (Med), along with officers from Ftr Guwahati, medical professionals, and dedicated force personnel from various SSB units.
