Guwahati: Senior journalist Ratul Deka, who was working with ETV Bharat and Ganadhikar newspaper, was found dead on Tuesday night in Morigaon. His body was discovered lying in blood on the road, prompting immediate notification to his family. Deka was rushed to Morigaon Civil Hospital, where he was declared brought dead by doctors.
The police initially suspect that it may have been an accident, but the cause of death will only be confirmed after a post-mortem examination.
Ratul Deka had a long and distinguished career in journalism, starting with an Assamese newspaper and later working with several other publications.
Deka was actively involved in several social organizations and held leadership roles, including serving as the President of the Morigaon Press Club. His death is a significant loss to the media community in Assam.
