Guwahati: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat spoke to Swayamsevaks in Guwahati, saying they play an important role in helping society. He addressed a large gathering at South Point School in Barsapara, where he explained that RSS is not just a regular organization but a movement that protects Sanatan culture and serves the nation.
More than a thousand Swayamsevaks attended the event, organized by RSS’s Mahanagar Shakha. Dr. Bhagwat spoke about five key areas to improve society: social unity, civic duties, environmental protection, self-respect, and family values. He asked people to stay united and build friendships beyond caste, religion, and language differences.
He also said Hindus should share temples, cremation grounds, and water. He urged everyone to plant trees, save water, and reduce plastic use to protect nature. He encouraged people to speak in their mother tongues instead of foreign languages to preserve Indian culture.
Dr. Bhagwat reminded citizens to follow traditional social rules, even if they are not official laws. He stressed that a strong and united society will lead to progress. RSS leaders, including Dr. Bhupesh Sharma, also attended the event.
Earlier, Dr. Bhagwat spoke at a Rashtra Sevika Samiti meeting at IIT Guwahati. He will now visit Arunachal Pradesh as part of RSS’s centenary celebrations.
