Guwahati: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit in Guwahati will be a statewide event. District Commissioners (DCs) have been instructed to facilitate Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) worth Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 50 crore in their respective districts.

During a video conference from Dispur, the Chief Minister emphasized that while the summit will be held in Guwahati, every district should actively participate. He confirmed that 2,590 small MoUs, totaling Rs. 15,911 crore, will be signed at the district level instead of the main event venue. He urged DCs to ensure smooth execution of these agreements in line with the summit’s goals.

Dr. Sarma also directed the DCs to organize screenings of the mega Jhumoir Binandini event across 800+ tea gardens in Assam. Since all dancers could not be accommodated at the Sarusajai Sports Complex, where the Prime Minister will be present, the screenings will allow tea garden workers to experience the grand event from their locations.

Industries and Commerce Minister Bimal Bora, Chief Secretary Dr. Ravi Kota, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Dr. KK Dwivedi, and other senior officials attended the conference.
