Oil India Limited Organizes Saksham Cyclothon Across Assam

Guwahati: Oil India Limited – Pipeline Services organized the Saksham Cyclothon in Guwahati, Nagaon, and Tezpur to spread awareness about fuel saving, eco-friendly travel, and a clean environment. Over 250 people joined in Guwahati, while more than 100 cyclists participated in Nagaon and Tezpur.

In Guwahati, JPP Das (Executive Director, PLS) and Arunjyoti Baruah (Chief General Manager, HR&A, PLS) flagged off the event. Assamese actress Richa Chetry attended as a special guest. Local environmentalist Kaushik Guha led the ride and encouraged people to choose cycling for daily travel.

Earlier, on February 16, a Walkathon was also held under Saksham 2025.

In Tezpur, Simanta Saikia (Vice President, Sonitpur Cycling Association) motivated the cyclists to use bicycles more often. The cycling group Miles With Cycles and the non-profit Pedal for a Change helped organize the event.

In Nagaon, Dr. Smarajit Ojah (Assistant Professor, Nagaon Girls College) and Mr. Benris R Hrangkhol (Forester, Nagaon Wildlife Division) spoke about the benefits of cycling for fuel saving and environmental protection. The local group Nagaon Cyclists worked with Pedal for a Change to bring cyclists together.

The non-profit Pedal for a Change managed the cyclothon in all three cities.
