Guwahati: Newly elected Member of Parliament from Dhubri Lok Sabha constituency, Rakibul Hussain, visited the residence of former Assam Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta in Guwahati on July 20. The visit marked a significant moment in Assam’s political landscape, fostering discussions between prominent leaders.

Hussain, a senior Congress leader, expressed his honor and gratitude to meet Mahanta and his family. “My family and I had the honor of visiting the residence of Shri Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, the former Chief Minister of Assam, in Guwahati. We had the privilege of meeting his family and inquiring about his well-being,” he stated.
The meeting, while personal, also included important political discussions. Hussain’s election as MP from Dhubri this year adds to his distinguished political career. Mahanta, a notable figure in Assam’s political history, served as the Chief Minister for two terms and represented the Barhampur Assembly constituency from 1985 to 2021.
