Guwahati: Radisson Blu Guwahati organized a Walkathon on June 23 to promote healthy living and environmental awareness. The event was flagged off by SS Meenakshi Sundaram, IAS, Commissioner and Secretary, Govt of Assam, from the hotel premises.
Radisson Hotel Group South Asia is observing June 2024 as Community and Planet Action Month, focusing on community engagement through environmental activities.
As part of this initiative, Radisson organized ‘Walkathon – Walk Together for a Cause’ from June 21-23 across India to raise funds for the Radisson India Charitable Foundation. At Radisson Blu Guwahati, the Walkathon took place on June 23.
“Our mission is to promote green mobility, health, and well-being while raising funds for the Radisson India Charitable Foundation. We aimed to build a strong community and create an enjoyable event for all participants. We are happy to see such enthusiastic participation and to contribute to a cause that benefits both our community and the environment,” said Ankur Mehrotra, General Manager, Radisson Blu Guwahati.
More than 200 participants gathered at Radisson Blu Hotel in the morning and started with a lively Zumba session to warm up before the walk. The 4-kilometer walk began and ended at the hotel. After the walk, there was a meet-and-greet session with breakfast for the participants, who also received certificates from Radisson Blu Guwahati.
