Guwahati: Purabi, Northeast India’s largest cooperative dairy brand, has launched its new range of long shelf-life flavoured milk. The launch event, held on September 27, introduces three exciting flavours – Mango, Strawberry, and Kesar – under the Purabi brand, expanding the company’s reach across Assam and beyond.
Produced at the newly inaugurated state-of-the-art facility at Purabi Dairy, Panjabari, the flavoured milk range is part of the Assam Government’s APART project, funded by the World Bank. The event, named “Purabi Xondhiya,” was attended by Assam’s Minister for Cooperation, Nandita Gorlosa, who highlighted the importance of the launch in helping the state reach its milk production goals.
The flavoured milk is available in 180ml PP bottles with a five-month shelf life, ensuring greater market reach and allowing Purabi to expand into new regions without requiring cold chain logistics.
WAMUL’s Managing Director, SK Parida, expressed excitement about the launch, stating, “This new flavoured milk is both nutritious and visually appealing, catering to a broad audience, from children to adults.”
The launch event also featured popular Assamese celebrities such as Zubeen Garg, Dr. Sanjive Narain, Pranjal Saikia, and others.
With the introduction of flavoured milk, Purabi Dairy aims to boost the dairy cooperative’s growth and provide additional opportunities for Assam’s milk producers.
