NDRF DIG Reviews Preparedness at 1st Battalion in Assam

Guwahati: B.B. Vaid, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), completed a two-day visit to the 1st Battalion, NDRF, on September 25th and 26th. During his visit, DIG Vaid assessed the readiness of NDRF personnel to respond to emergencies and shared insights from recent natural disasters to improve operational efficiency.

On September 26th, he visited the proposed site for a new NDRF camp in Sarpara, Kamrup District, where he also participated in a tree plantation drive, promoting environmental sustainability. Later, DIG Vaid addressed the National Workshop on Design for Sustainability 2024 at IIT Guwahati, stressing the importance of research and innovation in disaster management.

He also explored the Disaster Management Equipment Exhibition, highlighting NDRF’s commitment to using modern tools for effective disaster response.
