Three young talents from Northeast India have made the region proud by securing top ranks in the National Meteorological Olympiad (Met-Olympiad) organized by the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The Olympiad was held as part of IMD’s 150th Foundation Day celebrations and conducted at both state and national levels.
Tanmoy Kashyap from St. Vivekananda English Academy, Maligaon, secured 2nd place in the Class 8 category. Dishant Bezbaruah of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Nirjuli, bagged 3rd place in the Class 9 category, while Samrat Das from Delhi Public School, Dimapur, achieved 3rd place in the Class 11 category.
The students were honored by the Prime Minister of India during the grand celebration held at Bharat Mandapam. They received cash prizes, mementos, and national recognition for their outstanding achievements.
The National Meteorological Olympiad was designed to promote interest in meteorology and science among students and celebrated their knowledge and skills on a prestigious platform. The success of these young minds has brought pride to the Northeast and inspired many to pursue excellence in science and innovation.
