Guwahati: The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), NER, Guwahati, celebrated Van Mahotsav 2024 with a plantation drive themed “Ek Paudha Maa ke Naam.” The event took place at the Guwahati Bypass on NH 37 and was organized in collaboration with the NGO BRIKSHA Save Trees Save Children and Dhariwal Build Tech Limited.
Narayan Deka, GMDA chairman, spoke about the current environmental situation, highlighting the importance of conservation. NHAI Guwahati’s Project Director, Suresh Kumar, encouraged children to plant a sapling on their birthdays, emphasizing the long-term benefits of such actions.
Van Mahotsav, observed from July 1 to July 7, aims to spread awareness about the importance of forests and trees in maintaining ecological balance. The event in Guwahati promoted environmental responsibility and the goal of planting as many trees as possible for a greener earth.
