Meghalaya Governor Leads 76th Republic Day Celebrations in Shillong

Shillong: Meghalaya Governor C.H. Vijayashankar led the 76th Republic Day celebrations in Shillong with great enthusiasm and pride. The event began with the Governor taking the National Salute during the parade at Polo Grounds, which featured various contingents showcasing Meghalaya’s cultural heritage, discipline, and patriotism.

In his address, the Governor extended warm wishes to the people of Meghalaya and emphasized the importance of democracy, unity, and inclusivity. He reiterated the state’s commitment to contributing to a strong and united India while fostering progress and harmony.

Following the parade, the Governor hosted the traditional “At Home” reception at the Raj Bhavan, attended by dignitaries, officials, and prominent citizens. The event highlighted the unity and camaraderie of the state. Awards were presented to winners of the Raj Bhavan Flower Show, a popular annual event. Cultural performances by ICCR and various groups added vibrancy to the celebrations.
