Guwahati: Marwari Hospitals celebrated Diabetes Awareness Month throughout November, with activities emphasizing the importance of managing and preventing diabetes. The highlight was a walkathon rally on November 30, 2024, organized in collaboration with the Lions Club of Guwahati, starting from Jail Road Park to the hospital premises. The rally saw active participation from doctors, nurses, paramedics, and executives. Sarat Kumar Jain, President of Marwari Hospitals, flagged off the event at 7 AM.
Following the rally, the hospital conducted free blood pressure, blood sugar, and haemoglobin tests for attendees. Dr. J.P. Sarma, Director of Medical Services, delivered an insightful speech, urging regular health checkups and a balanced lifestyle. Renowned physicians, Dr. B.B. Kukreja and Dr. Dinesh Agarwal, addressed participants’ queries.
As part of the awareness month, Marwari Hospitals hosted a full-day CME (Continuing Medical Education) program, where doctors exchanged knowledge about diabetes management.
The hospital also inaugurated a state-of-the-art Diabetes Centre of Excellence, offering advanced diagnostics like a Diabetic Risk Assessor, Cardiac Autonomic Neuropathy Analyzer, and Digital Fundus Camera. Operating from 8 AM to 6 PM, the center ensures comprehensive diabetes care. Free diabetes screenings are available daily from 8 AM to 10 AM, reaffirming the hospital’s commitment to accessible, quality healthcare.
