Guwahati : Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the eagerly awaited Maligaon Flyover will be unveiled on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima, which falls on August 30. On this special day, Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma will present the 2.6-kilometer long flyover stretching from Maligaon to Kamakhya Gate as a gift to the residents of Guwahati.

Through a tweet, Dr. Sharma shared his excitement with the people of Guwahati and Assam, expressing his delight in making this announcement. It’s noteworthy that the construction of the bridge commenced in 2020, and its total cost amounts to Rs 420 crore. The inauguration of this flyover is expected to alleviate the persistent traffic congestion issue, providing much-needed relief to commuters.
