Guwahati: The district transport department of Kamrup Metro, along with other districts in the state, has launched a special initiative to collect outstanding vehicle taxes in the district. To raise awareness among vehicle owners in the district, a campaign has been initiated with June 30, 2023, as the deadline for payment of outstanding taxes. Leaflets are being distributed across various locations in the district to spread the message.
It is important to note that a penalty will be imposed for late payment of taxes, and vehicle registration may also be cancelled. Gautom Das, the Assistant Transport Commissioner & District Transport Officer, humbly appeals to all vehicle owners in the district to pay their taxes on time. This will contribute to strengthening the transport system and showcase their responsibility as citizens, thereby supporting the overall development of the state.
