Guwahati: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) today inaugurated three water sprinkler vehicles and three water-logging vehicles. The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Mayor Mrigen Sarania.
The three water sprinkler vehicles were initially procured under the Pollution Free India Mission (NCAP), with three additional water-logging vehicles added to the fleet to enhance road cleaning efficiency. These vehicles are expected to play a crucial role in controlling dust and maintaining cleaner roads across Guwahati, contributing to a healthier urban environment.
Additionally, the GMC has introduced two new Ashok Leyland buses to support the daily transportation needs of sanitation workers. These buses are designed to save time and reduce costs for the workers, ensuring they can efficiently cover various locations within the city.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mayor Sarania emphasized the importance of these new vehicles in the city’s ongoing efforts to maintain cleanliness and reduce pollution. “These initiatives will significantly enhance our ability to keep Guwahati clean and eco-friendly, benefiting both residents and the environment,” he stated.
