Free Surgeries Offered at Guwahati’s Marwari Hospital

Guwahati: Marwari Hospitals in Guwahati has introduced a new initiative in collaboration with Lohia Charitable Trust by organizing a free surgery camp. The registration and screening process for the camp took place on May 26th and 27th, 2023, within the hospital premises. A total of 107 individuals have registered for various surgeries. The camp will focus on providing free surgeries for Gall Bladder, Appendix, and Hernia, performed by experienced surgeons from Marwari Hospitals. The surgeries commenced on June 2nd and will continue throughout the months of June and July.

The inauguration ceremony for the free surgery camp was held in the hospital auditorium at 4 pm on June 2nd. The event was attended by Kailash Lohia, President of Marwari Hospitals, Ramesh Goenka, Vice President, Ramawtar Bharatia, General Secretary, R.S. Joshi, Chairman of the Clinical and Diagnostic Committee, Shri Sarat Jain, Office Bearers, Dr. J.P. Sarma, Director of Medical Services, Rohit Upadhayay, Hospital Superintendent, as well as other doctors, surgeons, and officials.

The primary objective of this free surgery camp is to assist economically disadvantaged individuals who are unable to afford even nominal fees for surgical procedures. This initiative aims to provide essential surgeries to those in need, removing financial barriers and ensuring access to quality healthcare. The management of Marwari Hospitals expressed their belief that this program will greatly benefit the underprivileged population who previously faced uncertainties due to financial constraints. Through this scheme, they can undergo necessary surgeries without any financial burden.
