Guwahati: The Bharalumukh Police arrested four individuals involved in the kidnapping and robbery of Munindra Das near the Phoolbagan area during the early hours of Tuesday.
Addressing the media, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Padmanabh Baruah stated, “The accused abducted Munindra Das around 4:45 AM, robbed him of ₹1,500, and later abandoned him near the Kamakhya flyover.” He added that an FIR was registered immediately, and the stolen cash has been recovered and returned to the victim.
The arrested persons have been identified as Babul Ali, Jakir Ali, Sahab Ali, and Sirajul Ali.
CCTV footage from the area captured the moment when Das, riding his bicycle, was approached by a car. Three men exited the vehicle, accosted him, and began checking his pockets. When Das resisted, he was forcibly dragged into the car and taken away.
The police acted swiftly, leading to the arrest of all four accused within hours of the incident.
