Guwahati : Sahajananda Ojah, a prominent figure in Assam’s cricketing community, passed away at the age of 83 in Nagaon. He had a long and illustrious career in sports administration and education.

Ojah’s association with the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) began in 1969, and he played key roles in its growth. He served as the Secretary of the ACA from 1979 to 1986, contributing significantly to cricket’s development in the region. He also held the position of Assistant Secretary before becoming Secretary and later served as Vice President.
Aside from cricket, Ojah was the Assistant Manager of the Indian cricket team during its tour to Pakistan in 1982-83. He also made valuable contributions to education as the Principal of Anandaram Dhekial Phookan College in Nagaon.
His passing is a great loss to the sports community in Assam. The Assam Cricket Association and the cricketing fraternity extend their deepest condolences to his family and friends. Sahajananda Ojah’s legacy will be remembered in Assam cricket for years to come.
