Guwahati: Devajit Saikia has been elected as the Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unopposed. The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) congratulated him for this major achievement.
A team from ACA, led by President Taranga Gogoi and Secretary Tridib Konwar, honored Saikia at the BCCI office in Mumbai on Friday. They praised his contribution to cricket in Assam.
Taranga Gogoi said Saikia has played a key role in improving cricket in Assam and will now take Indian cricket to new heights. Tridib Konwar also praised Saikia for his dedication and efforts to grow the sport.
Saikia served as ACA Vice President from 2016 to 2019 and as Secretary from 2019 to 2022. During his tenure, he helped develop cricket at the grassroots level in Assam.
As BCCI Secretary, Saikia will focus on promoting cricket and taking the sport to global levels.
