Golaghat: On the occasion of Earth Day 2026, Cairn Oil & Gas organised a tree plantation drive in Golaghat district.
The programme was held at Borchapori Community Centre and Cairn’s Hazarigaon site, where local residents and company employees took part together. Several saplings like mango, amla, neem, olive, and guava were planted during the drive.
The initiative aimed to increase green cover, support biodiversity, and improve air quality. It also focused on soil and water conservation, while providing fruit and shade for nearby communities.
The company said the programme is part of its efforts towards environmental protection and sustainable development. It also aims to create awareness about the importance of protecting nature at the community level.
Cairn Oil & Gas stated that it continues to focus on responsible operations and sustainability. The company also reported a Net Water Positive Impact index of 1.18, showing its efforts in water management.
Through such activities, the company is working with local communities to promote a balance between energy needs and environmental responsibility.
