BJP-LED ALLIANCE SWEEPS BY-POLL SEATS IN ASSAM

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) emerged triumphant in the by-poll elections held in Assam, securing victories in all five constituencies – Bongaigaon, Dholai, Sidli, Behali, and Samaguri. The resounding wins have elicited enthusiastic celebrations, with supporters taking to the streets with dhols, fireworks, and jubilant chants.

Fielding candidates in Behali, Samaguri, and Dholai, while leaving the other two seats for its NDA partners, the ruling alliance achieved a decisive 5-0 victory. Nihar Ranjan Das of BJP secured victory in Dholai by a margin of 9,098 votes, while Diplu Ranjan Sarma emerged triumphant in the highly contested Samaguri seat. Behali witnessed Diganta Ghatowar defeating Congress’ Jayanta Bora by a margin of 9,051 votes. In Sidli, UPPL’s Nirmal Kumar Brahma secured a comprehensive win with a margin of 37,016 votes, and Diptimayee Choudhury comfortably clinched the Bongaigaon constituency with a margin of 35,164 votes.
