ASTC Launches Tree Plantation Drive on World Environment Day

Guwahati: To mark World Environment Day, the Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) held a tree plantation drive on June 6 at the ISBT courtyard in Khanapara. Director Chinmoy Prakash Phukan led the initiative in collaboration with ASTC employees.

Chairman Pallab Lochan Das inaugurated the program, which aimed to promote environmental awareness and greener surroundings. In his speech, the Chairman said, “If there are trees, there will be people. So, everyone should make an effort to plant trees and keep the environment green.”

Several dignitaries attended the event, including Vice Chairman Pranabjyoti Lahkar, Director Chinmoy Prakash Phukan, Special Duty Officer Gautam Das, Chief Mechanical Manager Biju Deka, Chief Non-Mechanical Manager Pulakjyoti Das, Chief Financial Manager Pawan Agarwala, Chief Human Resource Manager Deepak Tamuli, and ISBT Operations Manager Ghanakanta Das. Engineers, officers, and staff of the Corporation also took part in the plantation activity.

The program reflected ASTC’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community involvement.
