Rahul Chandra Das, managing director of Assam State Transport Corporation said that the I&C Centre aims to enhance road safety by ensuring vehicles comply with the latest regulations through automated testing. It will help reduce accidents caused by vehicle malfunctions and address environmental concerns related to emissions.

An essential part of this project is creating a comprehensive database accessible to MORTH, aiding initiatives like vehicle scrapping facilities and end-of-life vehicle schemes.

Cutting-edge automated testing equipment will assess vehicle safety, aligning with international standards. This marks a shift towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly transportation system for Assam.
