Assamese Short Film “To Let” Gets International Recognition
Journalist Hemanta Sarma’s short film “To Let” has been selected for this year’s Goa International Film Competition. It was chosen from 320 short films from different countries.
The film is about secularism. Talking about its theme, Hemanta Sarma said, “We live in a secular country, but do we really understand what secularism means? This film tells a simple but meaningful story on this topic.”
Hemanta Sarma wrote the story, screenplay, and dialogues and also directed the film. Utpal Bania produced it under the Focus Media banner. Dipamal Gogoi did the cinematography, Sudipta Nayan composed the music, and Manas Pratim edited the film. The main actors are Kulendra Roy Chowdhury, Naba Sharma, and Nava Mahanta.
