Guwahati: Assam Trinamool Congress staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Hengerabari, opposing the surge in prices of essential goods such as food items, vegetables, and medicines. Led by party president Ripun Bora, hundreds of party workers participated in the demonstration.
The protestors expressed their discontent by chanting slogans while wearing garlands made of tomatoes, and carrots around their necks.
Assam Trinamool Congress president Ripun Bora criticized the BJP-led government for the rising prices.
The protest saw the presence of key figures including Media President of the Party’s State Committee Dilip Kumar Sharma, General Secretary (Administration) Gajendra Prasad Upamanyu, General Secretaries Arupjyoti Bhuyan and Ikramul Huda, Assam Trinamool Youth Congress President Bandip Dutta, Kamrup Metropolitan District Trinamool Congress President Tapan Kalita, and Assam Trinamool Mahila Congress General Secretaries Smriti Sharma Hazarika and Anjali Brahma. Members from Kamrup Trinamool Congress, Kamrup Trinamool Mahila Congress, and Kamrup Trinamool Youth Congress also actively participated in the protest.
