AdtU Hosts Workshop on Medical Devices and Antibiotic Resistance

Guwahati: Assam down town University (AdtU), in partnership with NECTAR, Anna University Chennai, and down town Hospital, organized a one-day workshop on “Antibiogram, Audiometer Devices, and Calibration.” The event took place today at down town Hospital, Guwahati.

Experts, teachers, and medical professionals attended the workshop. Dr. N.C. Talukdar, Vice Chancellor of AdtU, inaugurated the event. Other guests included Mrs. Mayurakshi Dutta, Executive Director of down town Hospital, and Dr. Arun Kumar Sarma, Director General of NECTAR.

The workshop focused on three topics:

  1. Antibiogram – To understand antibiotic resistance.
  2. Audiometer Devices – For hearing tests.
  3. Device Calibration – To ensure medical tools work correctly.

Dr. M. Sasikala from Anna University explained the dangers of antibiotic resistance and how antibiograms help. Dr. S. Muttan demonstrated audiometer devices and their calibration. Participants also got hands-on practice with the devices.

The event ended with a discussion about improving medical technology in India and making it globally competitive. Participants received certificates at the end of the workshop.

This workshop helped students and professionals learn about important medical tools and technology. AdtU aims to improve healthcare standards in the region through such events.
