Guwahati : Following the unfortunate incident in Ganeshguri, the Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup Metropolitan District, Pallab Gopal Jha, conducted an urgent meeting to assess safety measures in the presence of all agencies involved in road excavation. The authorities have taken serious note of the situation and are initiating action against the responsible agency.
A tragic incident occurred in Ganeshguri near Ganesh Mandir in Guwahati on June 7. A young student lost her life in a road accident. Priya Kumari, who was riding as a pillion on a scooty, succumbed to her injuries. She passes away after being struck by a moving school bus. The accident took place at a location where the administration had dug up the road for a project.
During the meeting, strict instructions were issued to ensure safety protocols are followed by the agencies involved in road digging.
