Acclaimed filmmaker Dr. Shankar Borua is all set to showcase his latest film, BLUE OCEAN (Hindi/Punjabi/English, 133 mins), across several top universities in North India starting 17 November 2025. This marks Borua’s first entry into Hindi cinema.
The film will be screened at institutions including Punjabi University (Patiala), Panjab University (Chandigarh), DIT University (Dehradun), DAV University (Jalandhar) and many others.
Borua will be accompanied by his producing partner Shellee — a well-known Bollywood lyricist who has also written and composed the music for BLUE OCEAN. Both will personally attend selected screenings, engage in audience interactions, take part in Q&A sessions with students, and hold discussions with film enthusiasts and industry professionals.
About Dr. Shankar Borua
A native of Assam, Dr. Borua is a respected scholar, filmmaker, entrepreneur, and startup mentor with over two decades of experience across North America and South Asia. He holds a Ph.D. in Mass Communications from Texas Tech University, USA.
His acclaimed filmography includes Angst at Large, If God Be With Us, Beleaguered, The Curiosity Shop, Save The Himalayas, and many more—films that have resonated strongly across the Himalayan region and Northeast India.
About the Film
Set in Dehradun, BLUE OCEAN is a gripping crime thriller revolving around a gym named “Blue Ocean”, which becomes a microcosm of lies, greed, betrayal, and moral conflict.
Alongside its core storyline, the film highlights pressing issues of climate change and the environmental impact of human activities in the fragile Himalayan region.
The film also features emotionally powerful songs written and composed by Shellee, who co-produced the project with Borua.
