Guwahati, May 23 : In a recent development, the Guwahati Police arrested two individuals, Rasidul Ali and Inamul Ali, from Gorchuk area while they were in the act of selling boats made of counterfeit gold on May 23. Sources indicate that the duo attempted to deceive an individual from Uttar Pradesh by striking a deal worth Rs 3 lakhs. The buyer was travel from Uttar Pradesh to Guwahati for the purpose of purchasing the gold. Acting on a tip-off, the Gorchuk Police swiftly intervened and conducted a raid in an area falling under the jurisdiction of the Gorchuk Police Station. This operation led to the arrest of the fraudsters. Notably, two boats made of fake gold, weighing approximately 3.715 kg, were seized from their possession.
