Renowned magazine Femina has highlighted the inspiring journey of Assam’s 19-year-old Ritisha Khound, alongside Major Dipanwita Kalita. Ritisha gained national and international recognition for her role in the Hindi film Kuki. An actress, classical dancer, poet, and environmental activist, she is currently studying at the London School of Economics.
Her journey with the camera began at age three in the Assamese film Tula aru Teja. She has trained in Bharatanatyam and studied at the New York Film Academy. For her role in the web series Illegal, she cut her long hair to bring authenticity to her character.
Daughter of businessman-politician Jayanta Khound and advocate-filmmaker Dr. Jonmoni Devi Khound, Ritisha continues to balance academics with theatre and filmmaking. She has recently received offers from Bollywood and South Indian films.
