Two construction workers were kidnapped on the night of April 25, 2025, from the Pangchao area in Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh.
After getting specific information, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles carried out a joint operation in the Pangchao area on April 27, 2025. During the operation, the security forces came in contact with the kidnappers. In the gunfight that followed, three members of the NSCN (KYA) group were killed.
The forces also recovered four automatic weapons, ammunition, and other war-like items from the spot.
One of the kidnapped workers was safely rescued during the operation. The search is still on to find the second worker.
