India Sends 15 Tonnes of Relief Material to Earthquake-Hit Myanmar

India has sent 15 tonnes of relief material to Myanmar after a 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck the country on Friday, March 28, 2025. The relief supplies were sent in an IAF C-130J aircraft from Air Force Station Hindon and landed in Yangon on Saturday, March 29, 2025, according to Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Relief Supplies Sent by India

The relief package included:
Shelter & Basic Necessities: Tents, sleeping bags, blankets, meals
Clean Water & Hygiene: Water purifiers, hygiene kits
Power & Communication: Solar lamps, generator sets, TVs
Medical Aid: Essential medicines such as paracetamol, antibiotics, and medical supplies like syringes, gloves, cotton bandages, urine bags, and cannulas

PM Modi Assures Help to Myanmar & Thailand

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed concern over the disaster and assured “all possible assistance” to Myanmar and Thailand.

“Concerned by the situation in the wake of the earthquake in Myanmar and Thailand. Praying for the safety and well-being of everyone. India stands ready to offer all possible assistance,” PM Modi said. He also directed authorities to remain in touch with both governments and provide help as needed.
