Guwahati – Assam DGP GP Singh has suspended Bhargav Borbora, the Officer-in-Charge of Panbazar Police Station. He suspended after a video showing him assaulting a delivery agent on Fancy Bazar streets went viral. The incident, recorded by a passerby, sparked widespread outrage on social media.
In the video, Borbora is seen dragging the delivery agent and assaulting him after the agent allegedly broke a traffic signal. The DGP called the officer’s behavior “unacceptable” in a tweet and confirmed immediate suspension.
“A departmental enquiry has been ordered. CP Guwahati has been advised to post a new officer at Panbazar Police Station,” GP Singh added in his statement.
