Guwahati: The Paralympic Association of Assam (PAA) celebrated the achievements of Assam’s para-swimming medalists from the National Para-Swimming Championship at a felicitation event held at the Staff College in Khanapara, Guwahati. Dignitaries in attendance included PAA President Mr. Chandan Baruah, Vice President Mrs. Dorothy Suchiang, General Secretary Mr. Rajib Dey, Independent Director of Assam Petrochemicals Ltd. Mr. Jitu Talukdar, and Chief Manager of UCO Bank’s Zonal Office, Smt. Kukila Borkotoky.
In the recent championships held in Goa, Assam earned a total of eight medals, including three golds. Krishna Das led the state with two gold medals, while Surjya Saikia brought home another gold. Yesmina Khatun contributed with three silver medals, and Sajida Begum and Preeti Das each secured a bronze.
The PAA recognized and congratulated the athletes for their hard work, determination, and dedication, bringing honor to Assam on the national stage.
