The Balipara Foundation is set to host the 12th edition of its prestigious Balipara Foundation Awards on November 27, 2024, in Guwahati. This year, the foundation celebrates over a decade of honoring “Earth Heroes” from the Eastern Himalayas for their remarkable contributions to conservation and sustainable development.
Since the awards’ inception, 154 individuals and organizations have been recognized for their efforts to restore natural assets, boost biodiversity, and empower communities in the region. The awards celebrate excellence across impactful categories such as the Rural Futures Rewilding Award, Naturenomics™ Award, Green Journalist Award, Green Guru Award, Young Naturalist Award, Food for the Future Award, Forest Guards & Rangers Award, and Lifetime Service Award.
Ranjit Barthakur, founder of the Balipara Foundation, highlighted the event’s mission: “The Balipara Foundation Awards shine a light on the extraordinary efforts of those who are committed to protecting our planet.
