Guwahati : People can relax about the popular ‘Food Street’ in Dighalipukhuri, Guwahati. The Mayor of Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC), Mrigen Sarania, cleared up any doubts.
Sarania assured everyone that there will still be food streets like ‘Khao Gali’ in various parts of the city. But these plans will only happen officially when they set the rules.

He also told people that all the young people running food stalls in Dighalipukhuri can keep doing it. They just have to follow GMC’s rules very carefully.
Importantly, he said there won’t be any forceful removal of the food stalls in Dighalipukhuri’s ‘Khao Gali’ right now, which is good news for the local food sellers.
