Guwahati: Guwahati Police has taken note of a message circulating on social media calling upon members of the public to assemble in large numbers in Guwahati. The message states that the venue and time of the proposed gathering would be announced later.
Guwahati Police Commissionerate has clarified that no application or prior intimation seeking permission for such a gathering has been received so far.
The police said that any public programme or gathering must comply with applicable legal provisions and obtain the necessary permission or provide intimation to the competent authorities, as required.
The police has also appealed to members of the public not to act on unverified announcements regarding any such programme or gathering.
