Addressing the meeting, Dr Rath highlighted the company’s recent elevation from Miniratna Category-I to Navratna status, conferred on December 3, 2025.

NRL reported a strong financial performance for 2025-26. Its standalone net worth rose to ₹18,912 crore, registering a growth of 17.69% over the previous financial year. Revenue from operations increased to ₹26,393 crore, compared with ₹25,147 crore in 2024-25.

The refinery processed 3,113 thousand tonnes (TMT) of crude oil during 2025-26, operating at 103% of its rated capacity. Total sales volume stood at 3,200 TMT.

NRL also achieved record production of 727 TMT of Motor Spirit, surpassing its previous record of 725 TMT. Sulphur recovery increased to 6.3 TMT from the earlier high of 5.6 TMT.

The company’s flagship Numaligarh Refinery Expansion Project (NREP) achieved 87.1% physical progress by March 31, 2026. The Siliguri Marketing Terminal expansion, aimed at facilitating product evacuation after the commissioning of NREP, also reached 86.3% progress.

NRL said it is also promoting innovation and entrepreneurship through its Ideation programme, under which promising start-ups are supported and funded to develop new ideas and solutions.

With its Navratna status, improved financial performance and ongoing expansion projects, NRL said it remains focused on strengthening its operations, supporting energy security and creating sustainable value for its stakeholders and surrounding communities.

The AGM was followed by a media briefing where journalists from the region interacted with the NRL Chairman on the company’s growth, ongoing initiatives and future plans.
