Kokrajhar: Resonia Ltd. organised a menstrual hygiene awareness and health screening programme at Kalipukhuri High School as part of its Mukta Akash (Open Sky) – Menstrual Hygiene Week initiative.

The programme was conducted in collaboration with The Hans Foundation with support from Kalipukhuri High School. It aimed to raise awareness about menstrual hygiene, break myths and stigma, and encourage adolescent girls to discuss menstrual health openly.

As part of the initiative, awareness programmes and health camps were also organised in Kokrajhar and Chirang districts.

A total of 103 adolescent girls participated in the awareness session, while 121 menstrual hygiene kits were distributed to promote safe menstrual practices.

The session covered topics such as menstrual hygiene management, myths and facts about menstruation, nutrition, self-care, and hygiene during the menstrual cycle.

The programme was conducted by Dr. Sahinur Abdin, who interacted with students, answered their questions, and shared guidance on menstrual health. Representatives of Resonia also encouraged students to prioritise their health and help remove the stigma surrounding menstruation.

A health screening camp was also organised, benefiting 54 participants. Medical tests identified several beneficiaries with anaemia, who were provided counselling on nutrition and preventive healthcare.

Participants also received information leaflets on hand hygiene, menstrual health, anaemia prevention, and iron-rich diets to improve haemoglobin levels.

The programme concluded with active participation from students and support from the school authorities, with organisers stating that the initiative received positive feedback for promoting awareness and healthy practices among adolescent girls.
