Guwahati: The Assam Cricket Association has appointed former Assam cricketer Anshuman Bhagawati as its Cricket Strategy and Technical Consultant for a period of three years.
Bhagawati represented Assam in First-Class and List A cricket from the 1994-95 to 1998-99 domestic seasons. He also captained the Assam Under-16 team that won the prestigious Vijay Merchant Trophy during the 1994-95 season, a landmark achievement for the state.
After retiring from competitive cricket, Bhagawati moved into coaching and cricket administration, focusing on the development of young players. He has been actively involved in grassroots cricket in the United Kingdom and established the City Cricket Academy in Leicester, which has helped nurture emerging cricket talent.
The Assam Cricket Association expressed confidence that Bhagawati’s experience in coaching, talent development and cricket administration will contribute significantly to the growth of cricket in the state.
ACA has extended its best wishes to Bhagawati and expressed hope that he will play a key role in strengthening Assam’s cricket development programmes in the coming years.
