Guwahati: A two-day national seminar on “Indo–Myanmar Frontier Issues and the Way Forward” began on Tuesday at the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Regional Centre in Khanapara, Guwahati.
The seminar is jointly organised by Seemanta Chetana Manch Purvottar and Assam Rifles and will continue until June 18.
The programme is being held in collaboration with Dibrugarh University, Manipur University, and Rajiv Gandhi University.
The inaugural session began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp. Several dignitaries attended the event, including Pradeep Joshi, Ullas Kulkarni, Rana Pratap Kalita, Temjen Imna Along, Pratima Neog, Vikas Lakhera, Pradeep Kumar and Basishtha Bujarbaruah.
The first day of the seminar saw participation from professors, researchers and experts from universities and organisations across the country. Discussions focused on issues related to the India-Myanmar border region, with several research papers and panel discussions held during the day.
The first day’s proceedings concluded with the National Anthem, while Prof. Sunil Prasad delivered the vote of thanks.
