Guwahati: In a proud achievement for Assam Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police Birdie Boro of the Special Task Force (STF) won two gold medals in table tennis at the 2nd All India Police Games held in Lucknow.

Boro clinched gold medals in both the Open Singles and Gazetted Officers Singles categories, achieving the feat for the third consecutive time.

In the Open Singles final, he defeated Subrat Raj Verma of Uttar Pradesh Police by 3–1. In the Gazetted Officers Singles final, he defeated M. Sree Abhinav of the National Police Academy by 3–0.

With this victory, Birdie Boro has also qualified to represent India at the upcoming World Police and Fire Games to be held in Perth.
