Guwahati: Expressing strong confidence ahead of the election results, BJP Assam State President and Darrang–Udalguri MP Dilip Saikia has claimed that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is poised to secure an “unprecedented and historic victory” in the state. He said the massive support from indigenous people and high voter turnout will play a key role in ensuring a decisive mandate in favour of the ruling alliance.
Saikia stated that the voting held on April 9 witnessed overwhelming participation, with more than 90 percent of traditional voters exercising their democratic rights in a positive social and political environment. According to him, this strong participation reflects people’s trust in democracy and their support for continued development in Assam.
Highlighting the role of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Saikia said the state is currently experiencing all-round development under his leadership. He added that people have voted to maintain and accelerate this progress, which is visible across sectors. The statement was shared with the media through an official communication issued by BJP State Spokesperson Ranjib Kumar Sarmah from the party headquarters, Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan in Guwahati.
At the same time, Saikia issued a strict advisory to party members, including candidates and office-bearers, regarding their behaviour on social media. He expressed concern over the use of inappropriate and derogatory terms like “Chiprang” and “Gaddar” by some individuals associated with the party in recent days.
He made it clear that social media should not be used to express anger or internal dissatisfaction, and such language goes against the values and culture of the BJP. Emphasizing discipline, Saikia said that maintaining dignity and decorum is essential for all party workers.
Issuing a warning, he stated that discipline within the party is non-negotiable, and any violation of the code of conduct will lead to strict action. He urged all karyakartas to remain responsible and uphold the party’s principles, especially during this crucial political period.
With results set to be announced soon, Saikia reiterated that the enthusiasm seen among voters will translate into a record-breaking performance for the BJP-led NDA in Assam.
