Chirang: A new skill development programme named ‘Udaan’ was launched in Chirang district on Thursday to promote vocational education and youth empowerment.
The programme was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner Madhusudan Nath. The initiative has been started by Resonia Limited in association with Lok Bharati Education Society.
The training programme will provide free courses in trades like electrician and beautician. It is approved by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Students were also given training kits during the launch event.
Circle Officer of Sidli, Nikunj Kumar Das, was also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, Madhusudan Nath said skill-based education is very important along with regular studies. He added that such programmes help youth become self-reliant and improve their chances of earning a livelihood.
Chittaranjan Mishra from Resonia said the aim of the ‘Udaan’ programme is to help young people gain practical skills and become independent. He said the programme currently offers two courses—beautician and electrician training.
Officials said the programme will benefit many youths in the region by giving them free access to job-oriented training. It is expected to support local development and create better employment opportunities.
