Guwahati: A grand and emotional tribute was paid to legendary singer Asha Bhosle at Sur Saptak Sangitalay. The programme, organised by Events Infinity, saw a large number of people attending in the city.
The event began with a moment of silence to pray for the peace of her soul. The programme was curated by Akki Avkash Jain Jammar and Nishant Bagaria, and managed by Bikash Bhowal.
Chief guests included Ahmed Ali Ayubi, Assam President of Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), and Gauravv Somani from Bharatiya Janata Party Assam unit. They said Asha Bhosle was not just a singer but an important part of Indian culture.
Special guests Smarita Sen Sharma and Mamta Harlalka also paid tribute and spoke about the importance of music and positive energy.
The programme featured performances by artists like Bidrohi Roy, Uttam Bhattacharjee, Nupur Bhowmik, and Sunirmal Chakraborty, who presented some of Asha Bhosle’s popular songs.
Students of Sur Saptak Sangitalay also performed her songs and made the event memorable. The programme also remembered singer Zubeen Garg and Bidushi Dalia Dutta Bhowal, founder of the institute.
The tribute programme ended on an emotional note, with people remembering the legacy of Asha Bhosle and her contribution to music.
